I am a passionate web developer based in Windhoek, Namibia. I have experience in creating custom web solutions / experiences for from small to large companies and for your personal everyday user, problem solving, project research, determining user needs by analysing technical requirements, writing project briefs and project planning.
It all started when I discovered the www (World Wide Web). I found it fascinating how quick and easy it was to find information and interact with people. For that reason, I always wanted to create things that people could use to make their lives easier using the World Wide Web. In 2011, my last year of school I was handed over a brochure of Prestige Academy and saw that they had a Web Design and Development course. At that moment I knew this is what I am going to do. In 2012 I started with my studies and in 2013 I graduated top of my class. Ever since then I’ve been working in this field.
I believe that technology can help improve people’s lives all over the world. With the increase in development of greater technologies and access to the World Wide Web, people will have the possibility to gather information which could help them improve not only their live but also their communities.
My aim is to increase the standards of web development in Namibia in order to give an even greater online experience. This goes hand in hand with educating people about the pros and cons of using the World Wide Web, and how they can protect themselves and everyone they know.
Hmm, what else is there? I love listening to Japanese music as I am a big anime fan. Final Fantasy is my favourite video game franchise as I am a passionate gamer at heart. I also frequently visit my Local Game Store to play Magic The Gathering (Simic & Dimir).
I work mainly as a Front-End Web Developer (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) on various web-based project. On occasion I also need to do some Back-End (PHP) work to fix issue or analyze code.
My responsibilities included:
I was in charge of the creation and maintenance of the JAC-MAT online presence, which includes the development of a website and social media / internet marketing.
Whilst still in college I spent 2 weeks doing "practical" work at iWits Namibia in Windhoek. At the end of my 2 weeks I was offered a permanent position once I completed my studies. After my return from South Africa I immediately started working at iWits Namibia.
At iWits Namibia I worked on a wide range of web development project.
